Word of the Father · Day 104/366
Surrounded, but Not Crushed
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;”
2 Corinthians 4:8
Today I want to remind you of a truth that may ease your chest on this heavy day: you can be surrounded by problems on every side, not knowing which way to escape, feeling like any direction you choose will lead to more difficulty, and still not be destroyed.
Troubled is not the same as distressed with no way out. Perplexed, not understanding what's happening, is not the same as in despair with no turning back. I know the pressure on you is great right now, that you can't see a clear path ahead, but that doesn't mean I ever lost control of your story.
A tight space is not the same as the end of the road, even if it feels that way when the air runs short. As long as you're breathing, I am still working out a path you can't yet see with your own eyes. Hold on through this curve with me, without letting go of my hand on this difficult stretch.
