Stop Demanding So Much of Yourself
“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.”
2 Corinthians 3:5
Today I want to remind you to treat yourself with the same tenderness you show the people you love. I know you replay the whole day in your mind, everything you did wrong, every detail that could have been better, every task left unfinished on the list, every word that came out wrong in a hard conversation.
That constant self-criticism wears you out more than the work itself, more than any physical task ever could. And I need you to listen closely to this: your ability to handle things never came only from you, alone, relying on your own strength. It always came from me, lent to you, renewed, offered without charging interest behind your back.
Let go of that inner ruler a little today, that measuring stick you use against yourself without mercy. You did what you could, with what you had available in the moment. That is already enough in my eyes, and it can start being enough in yours too, with time and patience toward yourself.
