Word of the Father · Day 201/366

When It Seems Like I Went Silent

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

Psalm 30:2-3

I know there was a season when you cried out to me with everything you had, and it seemed like no answer came back, not even a sign that I was near. The silence hurt almost as much as the problem itself — maybe even more. Deep down, you started wondering whether I was still paying attention to you at all.

I was never as silent as it looked from where you stood. Sometimes I work at depths you can only understand later, looking back with different eyes. The psalm you're reading today was written by someone who also cried out for a long time before he finally saw the answer arrive.

Keep crying out, even without any visible sign right now. I heard every word you said, every tear you shed, every early morning hour when you whispered my name without expecting anything back. Healing is coming, even if its timing isn't exactly your timing.
