I See Your Broken Heart

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalm 34:18

My son, My daughter, I saw the crack inside of you. The one no one else sees because you've learned to smile over it, to answer well when they ask how you're doing. I don't need you to explain anything, I don't need you to arrange the right words before speaking to Me. I already know where it hurts, even before you understood it yourself.

You think you need to be whole for Me to come near. It's exactly the opposite. The more broken your heart is, the closer I stay, because it's there, among the pieces, that My care has the most room to work. I don't wait far away, keeping My distance, expecting you to fix yourself before coming to Me. I sit right beside you now, with no rush to leave.

Don't be in a hurry to look fine in front of anyone, not even Me. Let Me tend to what's broken, slowly, layer by layer, in My time, not on your clock. I specialize in putting back together what has shattered, in giving new purpose even to the sharpest pieces. And what I put back together comes out stronger than it was before it broke.
