Explicação
Este é o salmo mais citado no Novo Testamento, aplicado repetidamente a Jesus como o Messias que se assenta à direita de Deus (por exemplo, Mateus 22:44, Atos 2:34-35, Hebreus 1:13). A referência a 'Melquisedeque' remete a Gênesis 14, uma figura misteriosa que era ao mesmo tempo rei e sacerdote, algo incomum em Israel, onde a realeza (tribo de Judá) e o sacerdócio (tribo de Levi) eram sempre separados. A aplicação hoje é que este salmo se tornou fundamental para entender teologicamente quem é o Messias esperado nas Escrituras.
