The last and shortest of the 'Songs of Ascents': a final invitation for the Lord's servants who keep watch at night in the temple to lift up their hands and bless God, who made the heavens and the earth.
This fifteenth and final 'Song of Ascents' closes the collection with a brief call, likely addressed to the priests and Levites who kept night watch in the temple, sustaining continuous worship even at night, when most pilgrims had already departed. The response given in verse 3 ('the Lord... bless thee out of Zion') functions as a priestly farewell blessing for those who had completed the pilgrimage. The application for today is that worshiping God should not be limited to the most convenient or visible moments, but can and should continue even in the quiet, unnoticed moments of life.
