Day 69 — Mornings with God
The Lord Is Your Keeper
“The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.”
Psalm 121:5
Picture a day of intense heat and a shade that appears at just the right moment. Cool, generous, exactly where you needed it. That's how the Psalm describes God: a shade at your right hand. Not far away. Right there. Beside you.
The Lord is your keeper — not was, not only will be someday. Now. The Hebrew word suggests a constant, active, attentive watchfulness. He doesn't doze off. He doesn't get distracted. He keeps watch.
Sometimes life feels too exposed — vulnerable to chance, to bad news, to people who might hurt us. And it's true that not everything is in our control. But there is a Keeper over our life who misses no detail.
You can leave home today with that certainty. Not shielded from every difficulty, but kept by Someone who knows your whole path and hasn't taken His eyes off you since the day you were born.
Prayer
Father, how good to know You are my Keeper. Today I place myself under Your shade. Keep my coming and going, my heart and my path. Amen.
