Day 19 — Strength for Mothers
The Night Also Passes
“He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.”
Psalm 121:3
On the nights with a crying baby, you're on your feet while the world sleeps. On the nights when your teenager hasn't come home yet, you lie awake staring at the ceiling. On nights of fever, of nightmares, of longing — you keep watch.
And sometimes it feels like you're keeping watch alone.
But there is a Guardian who does not sleep. While you doze off exhausted, He is awake. While you finally rest, He keeps watching. While you can't stop thinking about what worries you, He is already tending to it.
Your foot will not slip — not because you are steady, but because the One who keeps you is steady. The difference lies in who is holding on, not who is walking.
Tonight, when sleep won't come or when it's interrupted again, you can hand over what you're carrying. Not because it doesn't matter — because it matters too much for you to hold alone. And there is a Guardian more than able to watch over it while you rest.
Prayer
Lord who never sleeps, watch over what is mine while I rest. Watch over my children, watch over my home, watch over my heart. Let me sleep in peace under Your watchful eye. Amen.
