Day 18 — Strength for Mothers
Fear Not, For I Am With You
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10
Fear is one of a mother's most frequent companions. Fear that your child will get sick. Fear that you won't be able to handle it. Fear of the future, of school, of bad influences, of financial crises. Fear of making a mistake so big the damage can't be undone.
God knew you would be afraid. That's why this verse exists — not as a criticism, but as a promise.
He promises four things: He strengthens, He helps, He upholds, and He holds you by His right hand. Four different responses for four different kinds of need. For the moment you're weak — He strengthens. For when the problem is bigger than you — He helps. For when you're about to fall — He upholds. For when you need to feel held — He grips your hand.
Which of these do you need most today? You can ask specifically. God isn't vague in His promises — so you can be direct in your requests too.
Prayer
God, identify my fear today and step into it. Strengthen, help, uphold — do what only You can do. Let me feel Your hand holding mine. Amen.
