Day 17 — Strength for Mothers
Come, and I Will Give You Rest
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
Jesus didn't say: go sort out your problems and then come find me. He said: come. Now. Just as you are.
And when you come, He gives relief. Not everything resolved in an instant — but something lifted from inside you that you couldn't carry anymore.
Motherhood carries this accumulated weight. Every worry about a child that keeps adding up. Every sleepless night. Every silent fear about the future. Every bit of guilt that got tucked away and never released. All of it weighs on you — and sometimes we forget to set it down.
Jesus calls the weary and the burdened. Does that describe you? Then the invitation is for you. Not for when things get better. Not for when the house is tidy or your heart is calmer. Now.
Come with the mess. Come with the fears. Come with the questions that don't have answers yet. He isn't startled by what you carry. And the relief He gives is real.
Prayer
Jesus, I come. With everything that's heavy, with everything I've held onto and never let go. Give me relief. Let me leave this meeting with You lighter than I came. Amen.
