Day 20 — Strength for Mothers
My Strength and My Shield
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”
Psalm 28:7
Notice the sequence in this verse. The heart trusts. Help comes. The heart rejoices. Praise flows out.
It doesn't start with the outcome — it starts with trust. And trust doesn't wait to see before it believes. It stakes everything before the proof arrives.
That's what God is asking of you today. Not that you're already joyful. Not that the problem is already solved. He asks you to trust — even without seeing, even in the middle of exhaustion, even without certainty about what's coming.
And when you trust, help comes. It may be immediate or it may take time. It may look different from what you asked for. But it comes. Because He is faithful to His word.
And then joy appears — not as a denial of the difficulty, but as the fruit of a trust that took the risk. A joy that doesn't depend on circumstances, but on knowing in whom you've placed your faith.
Trust first. Joy follows.
Prayer
Lord, let me trust before I see. Let my heart choose Your faithfulness as its foundation, not the circumstances of the day. And let help come in Your timing. Amen.
