Day 88Marriage Devotional

The Beauty of Staying

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Proverbs 18:22

Staying has a beauty that the modern world doesn't quite know how to value. In a time when everything is disposable, choosing to stay — choosing, day after day, the same man, the same home, the same commitment — is an almost revolutionary act.

And it's more than that: it's faithfulness that honors God. A marriage that lasts doesn't last because it's easy. It lasts because two people decided that what they built together is worth more than the comfort of starting over. It lasts because they learned to love each other in ways only time can teach.

You, who are here, who have read these days, who have prayed, who have chosen to cultivate your marriage — you are doing something of eternal worth. Your spouse isn't perfect. You aren't perfect. But you belong to each other, and that is a gift from God.

Today, look at him with eyes of gratitude. And remember that staying is also an act of love.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the blessing of having someone to stay with. May I never take for granted the companion You placed at my side. May the love we've built together be a reflection of Your love for us. Amen.
