Day 83 — Marriage Devotional
Building Together
“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
Psalm 127:1a
There are dreams you built together. A home, a business, raising your children, a trip, a life you wanted to create. Sometimes those projects move forward; sometimes it feels like nothing budges. What's at the center of it all?
Psalm 127 doesn't discourage the work — it repositions the worker. God needs to be the builder. That doesn't mean you and your spouse sit back waiting for a miracle — it means the decisions, the plans, the dreams pass through His hand first.
A marriage that builds with God at the center makes decisions together, prays over its choices, and doesn't make big moves without seeking His will. That protects. That aligns. That prevents a lot of needless wear from effort spent in the wrong direction.
What are you building? Ask the Lord to be the architect. Your work doesn't disappear — it gains meaning.
Prayer
Lord, be the architect of everything we are building. Our hands do the work, but we need Yours so that what we build will last. Guide every decision in our marriage. Amen.
