Day 5 — Marriage Devotional
If the Lord Does Not Build
“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
Psalm 127:1
You can organize everything — the budget, the schedule, the vacation plans, the list of goals for the year. And still feel like something is missing. It's not that the effort doesn't matter — it does, greatly. But there's a difference between building with your own hands and building with God's hands guiding yours.
A home with God at the center isn't a perfect home. It's a home that knows who to turn to when everything goes wrong. It's the house where you pray before deciding, where forgiveness is asked for sincerely, where grace flows between spouse and spouse. You don't need to have everything under control to have a solid marriage — you need to have God as the foundation. Invite Him into every room of your life together: the kitchen, the bedroom, the finances, the arguments. He builds what human hands cannot.
Prayer
Lord, I want You to be the architect of our home. Where we've built wrong, rebuild it. Where we're weary of trying, come and build it Yourself. Amen.
