Day 4Marriage Devotional

What God Has Joined

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Matthew 19:6

These words of Jesus aren't a threat — they're a protection. God is saying: what happened between you carries eternal weight, my hand is in this story, treat it with care. Don't separate it. Don't discard it. Don't give up at the first sign of difficulty.

We live in a time that prizes the disposable. If it's not working, trade it in. But marriage was designed to be different — a place where you learn to stay, to persevere, to forgive and begin again. That doesn't mean putting up with what is harmful; it means not giving up on what is hard but valuable. Today, ask yourself: what have I been feeding in my marriage — the easy way out, or deep commitment? God wants to help you choose to stay, not out of obligation, but out of love and faith.

Prayer

Father, guard what You have joined together. Drive away what threatens it and strengthen what builds it up. Help me treat my marriage with the care it deserves. Amen.
