Day 3Marriage Devotional

The Cord That Won't Break

And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:12

Have you ever tried to hold a single thread with just your hands? It slips, it can snap. But when three threads are woven together, everything changes. That's the most beautiful picture of a marriage with God at the center — not two, but three. You, your spouse, and God, woven together.

On stormy days — and they come, they always come — it's that third thread that holds everything up. When the two of you are exhausted, when conversation stalls, when it feels like you're pulling in opposite directions, God is the thread that doesn't give way. Not because marriage is easy, but because He is faithful. Bringing God into the center of your marriage isn't religious performance — it's a strategy for survival and for flourishing. It's saying together: the two of us aren't enough on our own, but with Him, we are strong.

Prayer

God, I want You to be the strongest thread in our marriage. On the days we pull in the wrong direction, pull us back to You. Don't let us undo what You have woven together. Amen.
