Day 15Peace in Place of Anxiety

He Holds Up Those Who Can't Hold On

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22

There are days when you simply can't hold on any longer. Your legs shake, your faith feels thin, and you feel like you're going to fall. For days like these, the Word has a specific promise. It doesn't say "be strong and hang on tight"; it says "cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee." The strength doesn't have to be yours. There's a liberating difference between holding on and being held up. When you hold on, you depend on your own energy — and it runs out. When you are held up, you depend on the hand of God — and it never fails. "He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved" doesn't mean you'll never feel the ground shake; it means that even in the shaking, there's a hand beneath you that won't let you completely fall. Today, stop trying to have strength for everything. Cast your burden — that load you've been dragging around — upon the Lord, and let Him sustain you. Leaning on God isn't weakness. It's the right way to get through what's too big to carry alone.

Prayer

Father, I cannot hold myself up alone today. I cast my burden upon You and believe that You sustain me. Be the hand that keeps me standing. Amen.
