Day 16Peace in Place of Anxiety

The Control You Never Had

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

Here is a truth that, instead of frightening you, sets you free: you never had the control that anxiety demands of you. You make plans — and you're right to make them. You organize, you prepare, you map out the path. But it is God who directs the steps. Think about it: how many things in your life turned out exactly as you planned? And how many took turns you never imagined — some painful, it's true, but others better than you would have chosen? If you never had absolute control and still made it this far, then your getting here never depended on you alone. It depended on Him. Anxiety wears you out trying to hold a wheel that has always been in God's hands. Letting go of that wheel isn't dangerous — it's resting from a weight that was never yours. Today, make your plans in faith, but open your hand on the outcome. Say: "I map out the path, Lord, but I trust that it is You who directs my steps — and Yours have always been surer than mine."

Prayer

Lord, I open my hand on the control I never truly had. I do my part and trust that it is You who directs my steps. Lead me. Amen.
