Day 55Goodnight, Lord

He counts your tears

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

Psalm 56:8

Maybe you cried today — or maybe you held the tears back all day, and only now do they threaten to fall. Know that not one of your tears is wasted in God's eyes. He keeps them, one by one, as something precious. You don't cry into emptiness; there is a Father who sees, who cares, who records every drop. Your pain does not go unnoticed in heaven. That brings deep comfort for the night: you are not suffering alone, and you are not suffering in vain. Tonight, if the tears come, let them fall before God. He gathers them with tenderness. And after you cry, rest, knowing that your sorrow is being cared for by the One who never despises a wounded heart. Your tears have an address: the heart of God.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You see and keep every one of my tears. My pain does not go unnoticed by You. Gather my weeping and grant me rest in Your comfort. Amen.
