Day 55 — Closer to God — 365 Days
He Never Sleeps
“Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
Psalm 121:4
There is immense comfort in this image: while you sleep, He watches. While you rest, He does not rest. While you turn off the light and close your eyes, God is awake — caring, watching over, working on what you cannot reach.
That means the night is not the place where things spiral out of control. The night is the place where you can let go and trust that He is standing guard. Those worries that tend to surface when the house grows quiet — you can leave them with Him and truly sleep.
And it's not just at night. There are situations in your life that are waiting for you to step out of the way so God can work in them. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is to stop trying to fix it and let the keeper of Israel take care of it. He won't blink. He won't get distracted. He is perfectly able to guard what you are entrusting to Him.
Prayer
Father, how good it is to know that You never sleep. Let me truly rest, knowing that You are watching over what is mine. Guard my life, my family, and my heart tonight. Amen.
