Day 56Closer to God — 365 Days

The Hand That Upholds

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:10

Three promises in one sentence: strengthen, help, uphold. And before all of that, the anchor: "I am with thee." Not I will be — I am. A presence that is continuous, constant, unshakable.

The fear you feel when you find yourself alone in a great challenge — God speaks directly into it: "fear thou not." He doesn't say the challenge will disappear. He says He won't let you face it alone. That's a difference that changes everything.

The right hand of His righteousness upholds you. Not your efforts, not your strength, not your competence — His hand. That doesn't mean you won't need to act. It means that while you act, there is a support coming from above that you cannot see, but that is real. When your legs want to give out, when your strength wants to fail, it's that hand that keeps holding you up.

Prayer

God, what a relief to know that You are with me. I don't need to be afraid, because I have Your presence, Your strength, and Your support. Thank You for not letting me fall. Amen.
