Day 288Closer to God — 365 Days

The Lord Is My Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:1

Five words that change everything: "I shall not want." Not "I shall not want if I behave well." Not "I shall not want as long as life is easy." The shepherd cares for the sheep because caring is his nature — not because they deserve it. And our Shepherd is the Lord Himself. He knows each one by name. He knows where the good pasture is and where the fresh water is. He goes ahead. He watches from behind. He carries us when we grow tired. When life feels scarce, when provision feels uncertain, return to Psalm 23. Read it slowly again. Let every verse be a promise that settles in your heart. You have a Shepherd who has never let a single one of His sheep go without, without Him knowing. And you are in His arms right now.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being my Shepherd. May my soul rest in the certainty that, with You, I shall not want. Amen.
