Day 203 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Value of Your Tears
“Put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
Psalm 56:8b
This is one of the most touching images in all of Scripture. David asks God to keep his tears in a bottle — like a precious treasure. And he asks: are they not recorded in Your book?
God keeps your tears. He doesn't let them fall to the ground and disappear. He doesn't consider them an overreaction or a weakness. He collects them, records them, knows each one by name.
Every tear you've cried in solitude — in the bathroom, under the covers, on the way to work — was seen. It was kept. It has a name and an address in God's record.
That doesn't make the pain disappear, but it changes what it means. Your pain is not invisible. You didn't suffer in vain and in silence. The God of the universe saw every moment, every tear, every difficult night. And He keeps them.
Prayer
Lord, may I know that my tears have value to You. May none of them have been wasted. Thank You for seeing me. Amen.
