Day 202Closer to God — 365 Days

Let God Tend to the Wound

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

Tending to a wound sounds simple, but it isn't. It requires letting someone else come close to the place that hurts. And sometimes, when we've been hurt, our natural reaction is to protect the wound — to not let anyone touch it.

But God asks for something different: cast it on Him. Throw the weight over. Stop carrying it alone. And the reason He gives is simple and profound: because He cares for you.

Not out of obligation. Not out of protocol. He cares — that expression carries the idea of genuine concern, of someone who thinks about you, who is invested in what you're going through.

You don't have to figure out your pain before going to God. You don't have to understand what you're feeling, put it into words, or have the right prayer ready. Just cast it. Just hand it over. And let the Caregiver take care of it.

Prayer

Father, today I cast on You what I've been carrying. I don't know how to carry it any longer. You care for me — I trust in that. Amen.
