Day 197 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Healing That Takes Time
“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”
Proverbs 13:12
Not every healing happens all at once. Sometimes you pray, you surrender, you feel lighter — and the next day the pain returns. And you wonder: did God not hear me? Am I doing something wrong?
No. Deep healing tends to move at the pace of the seasons, not the microwave. Layers are worked through one at a time. Painful memories are touched by God in the right measure, at the right time, without breaking us in the process.
Waiting for healing can be hard — but it isn't abandonment. It's process. It's care. It's God working in depths you can't even see.
And when the desire fulfilled finally comes — when you notice that the pain that once felt permanent no longer hurts the way it did — it will be like a tree of life: strong, fresh, full of fruit. Don't give up on healing because of the wait. It is happening.
Prayer
Lord, the waiting is hard. But I trust Your timing and Your process. Heal me in the way only You know how. Amen.
