Day 86Mornings with God

A Firm Hope

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Lamentations 3:25

The hope God gives is not a "maybe" hope. It isn't naive optimism, that light feeling that everything will turn out fine because people tend to be good. It is an anchor — firm, secure, fastened to something that does not move.

You can hope in God because He does not fail. Every promise He made, He kept. Every generation that sought Him, found Him. Not always the way they imagined, not always in the timing they wanted — but they found Him. He is faithful.

Christian hope looks ahead without naivety. It knows life holds pain. But it also knows that pain does not have the final word. That there is a God who steps into the middle of what is hard and works, transforms, redeems.

Today you can anchor your hope here. Not in circumstances, not in people, not in yourself — in God. Who is good. Who does not abandon. Who is with you in this very moment.

Prayer

Lord, I anchor my hope in You. Not in circumstances, which change, but in You, who are always the same. May this hope be my ground today. Amen.
