Day 85 — Mornings with God
Joy Comes in the Morning
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30:5
How many times have you gone to sleep with a broken heart and woken up with it a little lighter? There's something about sleep, about the day beginning again, about the silence of morning that brings a new gentleness. The night passes. And with it, some of the weight.
David knew this. He wrote about nights of weeping — and his tears were real. But he also knew that God has a way of renewing. His favor lasts a lifetime. The anger of the moment passes. And morning brings joy back.
If you went through a hard night — emotional, not necessarily sleepless — this morning is the arrival of joy. Not because the problems disappeared. Because God remained. Because mercy renews itself. Because the sun rose again and He is here.
Let the morning do what it was created to do: bring what the night could not give.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the morning that comes after the night. For the joy You bring when the weeping passes. May this dawn be renewal for my heart. Amen.
