Day 84 — Mornings with God
This Is the Day
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
This day — today — was made by God. It wasn't an accident. It wasn't just one more day in the line of time. This specific day was created, planned, and given to you.
It's easy to put off gratitude. "Once this season passes, I'll be happy." "Once I solve that problem, I'll breathe." But the Psalm calls us back to now: today. This day. Rejoice.
Let us rejoice and be glad — these are active verbs. Not "wait and see if it's going to be a good day." Decide now that you will rejoice, not because of what the day will bring, but because the One who made this day is the Lord.
There's something freeing about recognizing that today was given by God. He doesn't hand out bad days by accident. Everything that happens today passes through His hands before it reaches you. That doesn't mean it will be easy — it means it will be meaningful.
Wake up fully. Look at this day with eyes that recognize the gift. This is the day the Lord has made.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for this day. You made it. I choose to rejoice in it — not because everything is perfect, but because You are the Lord and this day is in Your hands. Amen.
