Day 87 — Mornings with God
Gratitude That Overflows
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
There are days when gratitude comes easily — when the news was good, when the prayer was answered, when the sun is beautiful and the coffee turned out perfect. But Paul's instruction isn't just for those days. It's for everything.
In everything. That includes the day that went wrong. The relationship that hurt. The door that closed when you wanted it open. Not gratitude for those things — but gratitude in the midst of them, gratitude because God is present even where it seems He isn't.
This overflowing gratitude isn't performance. It's the result of a heart trained to see God in everything — in the small details, in the coincidences that aren't coincidences, in the people who show up at just the right time, in the strength that arrives when yours has run out.
Today, let gratitude overflow a little more than yesterday. Look for God in the details of your day. You'll find Him more often than you think.
Prayer
God, thank You. For today. For yesterday. For what is still to come. Open my eyes to see You in the small moments, and may gratitude be the most constant language of my heart. Amen.
