Day 81 — Mornings with God
Good to Those Who Wait
“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
Lamentations 3:25
Jeremiah wrote Lamentations in the midst of Jerusalem's destruction. It's a book of deep pain, of raw grief, of a man who watched the worst happen. And out of that chaos, he finds this precious stone: the Lord is good to those who wait for Him.
Waiting on God isn't crossing your arms and doing nothing. It's staying oriented toward Him while time passes. It's continuing to seek Him even when it feels like your prayers aren't getting past the ceiling. It's trusting that His timing is wiser than our desire.
And the promise is clear: He is good to these. To those who wait. To the soul that seeks Him. Not to those who give up. Not to those who stop seeking. To those who remain.
If you're in a season of waiting right now — and waiting can be so heavy — this verse is for you. Keep waiting. Keep seeking. The Lord is good. Good to you, in this moment, in this waiting.
Prayer
Lord, help me wait on You without growing discouraged. When the waiting wears me out, remind me that You are good to those who seek You. May my soul remain turned toward You. Amen.
