Day 77Mornings with God

The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength

for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Nehemiah 8:10

The people were weeping as they heard the law read — likely aware of their failures, weighed down by all they had lost. And Nehemiah said something unexpected: don't weep. The joy of the Lord is your strength.

Not "fake joy." Not "pretend everything's fine." The joy of the Lord — which comes from Him, which is grounded in Him, which exists not because life is easy, but because God is good.

This joy is a real strength. It holds you steady when your emotions would waver. It keeps you standing when exhaustion pushes you down. It's a spiritual resource, not a passing mood.

And it's available to everyone. It isn't reserved for those who have it all together. It's for those who choose to lean on God even when they're fragile. This joy isn't born from circumstances — it's born from knowing whom you believe in.

Today, let His joy be your strength. Not because everything is perfect. Because He is faithful.

Prayer

Lord, I want the joy that comes from You — not the shallow kind, but the kind that sustains. May it be my strength today, especially when I feel weak. Amen.
