Day 76 — Mornings with God
Entering the Gates with Thanksgiving
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Psalm 100:4
Before asking for anything, before bringing your list of problems, before arriving with arms full of needs — the Psalm invites us to enter with thanksgiving. Gratitude first. Everything else after.
This isn't religious ritual. It's wisdom. When you start the day counting what you already have instead of what's missing, something shifts inside you. The heart warms. Perspective widens. You remember that even before you asked, He had already given so much.
The coffee that warmed you. The dawn that came. The air that moves in and out without you having to think about it. A memory that still works. People who love you. The grace that covered yesterday's mistakes.
Today, before you begin your day, pause for a moment. Not to complain about what's missing — to give thanks for what you have. Enter the gates with thanksgiving. It's the best way to start any morning.
Prayer
Father, I enter this day with a grateful heart. Thank You for what You've already given, for what You've already done, for the life that is a gift. May gratitude open my day today. Amen.
