Day 72 — Mornings with God
A Peace No One Can Take
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27
The world offers peace with conditions: once everything is resolved, once the situation improves, once the bills are paid, once your health returns. It's a fragile peace, dependent on circumstances that change all the time.
But Jesus says: I leave My peace with you. And then He adds — not as the world gives. His peace doesn't depend on circumstances. It comes from within. It's a presence, not an absence of problems.
Let not your heart be troubled. That's an instruction, not a vague hope. It is possible not to be troubled. Not because you're strong enough, but because there's a peace that has been given to you that no one can take away — not the hardest situation, not the most difficult person, not the longest day.
Receive that peace now. Let it settle into your heart. And carry it with you today — the peace the world doesn't understand, but that you know because you know Jesus.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I receive the peace You left me. May it guard my heart today, when the day grows hard and fear tries to come in. Only You can give this peace. Amen.
