Day 71 — Mornings with God
He Goes Ahead, He Does Not Abandon
“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
Moses was saying goodbye. He would die soon, and Joshua would take up the leadership of an entire nation. Imagine the weight of that moment — the responsibility, the uncertainty, the loneliness of the transition. But Moses didn't hand over strategies. He handed over a promise: God goes ahead.
You might be in a transition right now. A season that ended, another that's frightening to begin. Or maybe it's not a transition at all — maybe it's just an ordinary Tuesday with its own challenges. It doesn't matter. The promise covers all of it.
God goes ahead. He is already there where you'll arrive at ten in the morning. He knows the person you'll speak with, the news you'll receive, the exhaustion that will try to settle on you at noon. And He has already prepared the way.
You do not go alone. And whoever walks with God can dare more, fear less, and trust more deeply.
Prayer
God, what relief to know You go before me. I hand today over into Your hands. Do not leave me, do not forsake me — and I will do my part with courage. Amen.
