Day 64 — Mornings with God
The Peace That Guards
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7
The peace God gives doesn't make sense to those looking in from outside. It's hard to explain how someone can be calm in the middle of a storm, at rest when everything around them screams panic. But whoever has lived it knows: it isn't denial, it isn't pretending. It's a real guard that comes from within.
Paul wrote about this from a prison. Not from a comfortable place, not from a life free of trouble. From the hard floor of a cell. And he said: there is a peace that surpasses understanding, and it will guard your heart.
Guard — like a soldier who won't let the enemy in. Anxiety will try. Fear will knock at the door. But when you bring everything to God in prayer, with thanksgiving, peace takes its post.
Let it guard your heart today. You don't need to understand everything. You need to trust the One who does.
Prayer
Lord, I ask for the peace that comes only from You. Guard my heart from the thoughts that trouble me. I hand this day over to You and trust in Your care. Amen.
