Day 52Mornings with God

A Lamp for Your Feet

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119:105

A lamp for your feet. Not a floodlight for the whole horizon — a lamp for the next step. That's exact and generous at the same time. God doesn't promise you'll see the whole plan at once. He promises there will be enough light for the step you need to take right now.

God's Word works this way. It doesn't hand you a detailed map of your entire life — it gives you what you need for today. A truth that illuminates a decision. A promise that strengthens a weakening area. A verse that lands exactly where doubt had settled in.

That's why reading the Bible in the morning has such concrete power. It isn't a ritual — it's switching on the lamp before you head out on the road. It's equipping yourself with light before stepping into the dark.

Today, carry a verse with you. Let it settle in your heart, and watch what it lights up throughout the day.

Prayer

Father, may Your Word be the light I carry today. When I can't see the way, remind me to return to what You've said. Your Word is enough. Amen.
