Day 48 — Mornings with God
Teach Me Your Ways
“Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me.”
Psalm 25:4-5
David didn't ask God to do everything for him. He asked God to teach him. To show him the way so he could walk it. There's a beautiful difference in this prayer — it's not a request for passivity, it's a request to learn.
Every morning is a new day of learning with God. The situations that will come up today, the people you'll meet, the decisions that will need to be made — each one is a classroom. And the Teacher is present.
But learning requires humility. The willingness to say, "I don't know everything. I need to be taught." That goes against our natural tendency to assume we already know, already decided, already mapped it out.
Bringing that open heart to the morning — "teach me" — is one of the wisest things you can do. Because whoever is willing to be taught by God rarely stays lost for long.
Prayer
Lord, teach me today. Open my heart to learn from whatever comes — from the difficulties, from the people, from Your Word. Guide me in Your paths. Amen.
