Day 41 — Mornings with God
One Day at a Time
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
We've quoted this verse before, but it deserves a second look — this time through the lens of "one day at a time." The Psalm doesn't say "these are the days." It says, "this is the day." Singular. Present. Here.
There is enormous wisdom in living fully within a single day. Not because the future doesn't matter, but because you can only act, love, breathe, and trust one moment at a time. When you try to live yesterday, tomorrow, and today all at once, the present goes unattended.
What is in front of you today? A task, a person, a conversation, a challenge — all of it exists within this specific day that God made. And within this day, He is present. Completely.
You don't need to solve everything today. You don't need to understand everything today. You only need to be present — here, now, eyes open to what God is doing in this day He Himself prepared for you.
Prayer
Lord, help me be present today. Help me not lose myself in what has already passed or in what hasn't yet arrived. May I live this day with attention and gratitude. Amen.
