Day 40Mornings with God

Strength for the Weary

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isaiah 40:29

Some days you wake up already tired. Before the day even begins, the weight is already there — from everything that's been piling up, from the sleepless nights, from the worries that don't rest even when you do. It's for days like these that this verse was written.

God doesn't say, "Rest, and then strength will come." He says, "I give power to the faint." To the one who is already exhausted. To the one with no reserves left. Strength comes before recovery — it's what makes recovery possible in the first place.

Isaiah wrote this to a people in exile, far from home, with no hope of returning. Weariness of soul, of body, of waiting. And God says: I increase. Not just give a little — increase. He turns the little that's left into more than there ever was.

If you're waking up tired today, you don't have to pretend you're fine. You can tell God exactly how you are — and receive from Him the strength your own hands cannot produce.

Prayer

Father, today I am weary. I don't have enough reserves left. But You do — and You promised to give. Increase in me what I'm lacking for this day. Amen.
