Day 42Mornings with God

Courage to Begin Again

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Sometimes morning is a fresh start. Not because everything is fine, but because a new day has arrived, and with it, a new chance. God's mercy works that way — it renews itself. Every morning, without fail.

Isaiah uses progressive images: eagles' wings, running, walking. From the most dramatic to the most ordinary. Because the renewal God gives is meant for the days you soar and for the days you can only manage to walk slowly.

Waiting on the Lord isn't crossing your arms and doing nothing. It's an active posture of trust — I know You will act, so I won't drown in anxiety. Out of that trusting wait is born a strength that isn't your own, one that doesn't run out easily.

If you arrived this morning needing to start something over — a relationship, a habit, an area of your life — God is here with courage for the fresh start. Not with pressure. With renewal.

Prayer

God, renew my strength today. Where I need to start over, give me courage. Where I only need to keep walking, give me steadiness. I wait on You. Amen.
