Day 38 — Mornings with God
Strength for the Day Ahead
“As thy days, so shall thy strength be.”
Deuteronomy 33:25
This promise is almost hidden in the middle of a blessing Moses spoke before he died. But it's pure gold. God doesn't give strength in stockpiles — He gives strength in the rhythm of the day.
There are light days, and for those days the strength He gives is more than enough. There are crushingly heavy days — days of loss, of exhaustion, of impossible decisions — and for those days the strength He gives is different, deeper, more sustaining.
You don't need to have energy stored up for what's still to come. You don't need to pretend you're already ready for the whole month. You only need what's necessary for today. And that is what God promises to give.
If today is hard, the strength will match the hardness of the day. If it's an ordinary day, the grace for the ordinary will come too. God is precise. He doesn't leave anyone without what they need to get through the day they've been given.
Prayer
God, I don't know what this day will bring. But I trust that You do — and that the strength I'll need, You will give at the right time. Teach me not to rush ahead or get ahead of myself. Amen.
