Day 35Mornings with God

This Is the Day

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24

Before you check your phone. Before you look at the news. Before the to-do list takes over your mind — this verse wants to reach you.

This day was made by God. It didn't just happen by chance. It isn't an obstacle you have to get through to reach the weekend. It's a gift, wrapped in the colors of the morning you're seeing right now.

Rejoicing isn't pretending everything is perfect. It's choosing to look at the day through the eyes of someone who knows the Creator of everything is present in it. The warm cup of coffee, the light through the window, the child still sleeping, the message that arrived with love — God is in these details.

Biblical joy isn't bubbly all the time. Sometimes it's calm, quiet, steady. It's a heart that says, "Today I'm going to find God somewhere. I'm going to pay attention."

Receive this day. It already came signed by Heaven.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for this day that You made. Open my eyes to Your presence in it — in the small moments, in the people, in the simple beauty. May I spend this day in gratitude. Amen.
