Day 32 — Mornings with God
Don't Carry Tomorrow
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 6:34
Jesus said this with a tenderness many people miss. It's not a scolding — it's an invitation. He knows we suffer twice: once when the problem actually arrives, and again when we keep rehearsing it before it ever shows up.
How many times have you lost sleep tonight over a tomorrow that doesn't even exist yet? How many mornings have started heavy because you were already carrying an entire week inside your chest before breakfast?
This day — just this one — is what you need to get through. And to get through this day, God has already set aside enough grace. Not for the month. Not for the year. For today. Tomorrow's provision will arrive tomorrow, together with the day itself.
So breathe. Plant your feet on the ground. Look at what's right here, right now, in front of you. God is already in your tomorrow waiting for you — you don't need to run ahead to get there.
Prayer
Lord, help me let go of tomorrow. May I live this day with my eyes open to what You are doing right now, without losing myself in worries about a future only You know. Amen.
