Day 31Mornings with God

Our Daily Bread

Give us this day our daily bread.

Matthew 6:11

There's a small, powerful beauty in this prayer Jesus taught. He didn't say "give us bread for the whole month" or "guarantee our provision for the year." He said: this day's. One day at a time. As if God knew — and He does — that you and I tend to drown trying to carry what hasn't even arrived yet.

This morning, before the rush begins, pause for a moment. The day ahead of you has its own challenges, yes. But it also has God's provision — exact, sufficient, right on time. He never arrives late. He never forgets you in the middle of the week.

Asking for daily bread is an act of trust. It's saying, "Father, I'm not alone in this. You provide." And He does provide — in the food on the table, in the word that arrives at just the right moment, in the strength that shows up exactly when you need it most.

Today, receive the day as a gift that already came wrapped with the provision you need. Not more, not less — enough.

Prayer

Father, thank You for today's bread — the kind that goes on the table and the kind that sustains my soul. Teach me to trust You one day at a time, without trying to grasp what isn't in my hands yet. You are faithful. Amen.
