Day 24 — Mornings with God
New Grace for Today
“It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
Yesterday's grace was for yesterday. Today's grace is new.
This is important to understand because many of us live trying to recycle the strength of other days. We try to survive today on what's left over from last week. And then we wonder why we're so tired.
God's grace doesn't work that way. It renews. Every morning. Like the manna bread in the wilderness — you couldn't save it for the next day. You received enough for today.
That means the strength you need for this specific day — for this meeting, this hard conversation, this tiredness you're feeling — is available now. It wasn't left over from another day. It was made for this one.
Don't try to live today on yesterday. Come to the new fountain available this morning.
God renews. Not just once in a while. Every morning.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the new grace of this morning. I won't try to live today on what's left over. I come seeking what You have new for me now. Renew me as this day begins. Amen.
