Day 21Mornings with God

Do Not Worry About Tomorrow

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 6:34

One thing at a time. This day. This morning.

Jesus didn't say this because future problems don't exist. He said it because you weren't made to carry the weight of every day at once. You were made to live one day at a time — with the grace God gives for this specific day.

Tomorrow will have grace for tomorrow. But that grace hasn't arrived yet because you're not in tomorrow.

When you spend this morning worrying about what might happen next week, you're trying to live in the future with today's strength. And today's strength wasn't made for that weight.

Stay here. In this day. With these problems — which, however heavy they are, have God's grace available now.

Breathe. Where am I right now? Who needs me today? What is God asking of me in this moment?

Begin here. The rest comes later.

Prayer

Father, help me stay in this day. When anxiety pulls me toward tomorrow, bring me back. The grace I need is here — not further ahead. Amen.
