Day 17 — Mornings with God
Weeping Endures for a Night
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30:5
Joy comes in the morning.
That promise was written for the one who spent the night crying. For the one who turned over in bed three times and the pillow got wet. For the one who stared at the ceiling at two in the morning, unable to sleep from worry or pain.
If that was you last night — this word is for you now.
Weeping may last through the night. God doesn't promise it will be quick or that it won't hurt. He doesn't minimize your pain. He names it: weeping. Night.
But He sets a limit: "endures a night." Not forever. And after the limit — morning. Joy.
I don't know what you're going through. But I know this morning exists. You are here. And God's promise is that joy — even if you can't feel it yet — is on its way.
Morning is God's sign. It's Him saying: "It's not over. Not yet."
Prayer
Father, if I spent the night weeping, receive my tears. And if joy hasn't arrived yet, help me trust that it's coming. May this morning be a sign of Your faithfulness. Amen.
