Day 16Mornings with God

New Every Morning

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

Jeremiah wrote this in the ruins. Literally. Jerusalem had fallen. The temple was destroyed. Everything he loved was in flames.

And it was in that place that he found this: mercies that never end.

It wasn't in prosperity. It wasn't when everything was fine. It was in the worst moment of his life that he discovered God's mercies are renewed. Every morning. Without fail.

You may have woken up today carrying yesterday's weight. An argument left unresolved. A word that hurt, or one you said without thinking. A failure that feels too big.

The good news isn't that you're going to pretend it didn't happen. The good news is that this morning arrived with new mercies. Not recycled from last month. Not the leftovers after you earned them. New. Specifically for today.

Great is the Lord's faithfulness — not because circumstances are perfect, but because He never fails.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the new mercies of this morning. I don't deserve them, but I receive them. May this gift help me begin today differently — lighter, more grateful, closer to You. Amen.
