Day 12 — Mornings with God
The Day in God's Hand
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Psalm 37:5
Commit your way. Commit your day.
There's an enormous difference between asking God to help you control the day and committing the day to God so that He can do what is best.
In the first, you're still in charge — just asking for help. In the second, you recognize that He knows more than you do about what's going to happen in these next hours.
This is hard for those who love to plan (and many of us do). We plan the week's menu, the route to work, the to-do list. Planning isn't a sin. But holding the day with both hands, without leaving room for God to change the script — that's exhausting.
Because God has a path for you today that you haven't seen yet. A conversation that will bless someone. A pause that will restore you. A change of plans that will be better than what you had planned.
Commit it. Not the responsibility of doing your part — but the outcome. "Lord, I did what I could. The rest is Yours."
Prayer
Father, I commit this day into Your hands. Keep my plans, but let Your purpose prevail. I trust that whatever comes today passes through You first. Amen.
