Day 8 — Healing for the Heart
He Is Near, Even in the Dark
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.”
Psalm 23:4
Notice something beautiful in this verse: David doesn't say "out of the valley," he says "through the valley." God doesn't always take you out of the dark place all at once — but He walks through it with you. His presence doesn't depend on the pain being over already. In the middle of the shadow, He is there. At the bottom of the pit, He is there. On that anniversary that hurt, on that marked date, in that empty room — He is there. You do not walk through this valley alone, and that changes everything. It is not the absence of darkness that removes fear; it is the presence of the One holding your hand within it. Today, if you are still walking through the valley, don't force your way out. Just know whose hand is holding yours. He will not let go of you along the way.
Prayer
Father, in the darkness I'm walking through, remind me that You are with me. I don't need to see the end — I only need Your hand. Walk with me. Amen.
